Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a Employment notification for conducting Combined All India Open Examination on 25/05/2014 for recruitment of Junior Engineer in the Disciplines of Mechanical, Civil and Electrical for various departments. Selection of eligible candidates will be done through Written Examination followed by interview. - Junior Engineer (Civil & Electrical ) in CPWD and Department of Posts,
- Junior Engineer(Civil/Electrical/Mechanical) in Border Roads Organisation (BRO) of Ministry of Defence
- Junior Engineer (Civil & Mechanical) in CWC and Farakka Barrage
- Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveying and Contracts) in MES
Eligibility Criteria:
Age Limit:
- 18 to 27 years for Civil & Electrical in CPWD & Department of Posts.
- Not above 30 years for Civil, Electrical & Mechanical in MES, maximum 32 years for Civil & Mechanical in CWE and Farakka Barrage,
- 18 to 27 years for Quantity Surveying and Contract in MES.
- Relaxation in age for reserved category will be applicable as per rule i.e. 5 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC Categories.
- Age and age with relaxation will be calculated as on 01/01/2014.
Educational Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering ,CPWD Posts recognized from any university. Please read the official notification before you apply.
Application Fee: Applicants have to deposit a sum of Rs. 100/- as their application fee by SBI Challan Form/Net Banking.
SC/ST/Women candidates are exempted from application fee.Examination Pattern:
Written exam will be conducted for 500 marks. Qualified candidates are then called for Interviews (Personality test) for 100 marks.
Written test will be of two parts:
Part - A (Objective type)
In this part, questions would be based on General Awareness, General Intelligence and reasoning and General Engineering (Civil, mechanical & Electrical).
Time limit: 2 hrs.
Maximum Marks: 200
Part-B (Conventional type)
In this part, questions will be based on General Engineering (Civil & Structural, Mechanical, Electrical).
Time limit: 2 hrs
Maximum Marks: 300
Written test will be of two parts:

How to Apply:
- Applications will be accepted only through online mode from the official website. On successful registration of Part-I, candidates have to deposit application fee.
- Part-II registration will consists of entering the application fee details and uploads of signature and photograph.
- All the applicants are suggested to take print copy of their application form, challan form and registration form for their record.
Selection Process:
Candidates will be shortlisted after evaluating their performance in the written examination and Interview. On the basis of the total marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and Interview, Qualified candidates will appointed to the mentioned Posts.
