Mohammad Kaif to contest Lok Sabha elections

Indian cricketer Mohammed Kaif who is currently out of Indian Cricket Team for a long time now seems to have focused on other than cricket. He has found himself as one among the 194 candidates that was selected by Congress Party to contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections  2014. He was offered with a ticket for Allahabad constituency from the Congress Party, exactly the constituency from which former Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru got elected. “I was born and brought up in Allahabad. I have played cricket in the streets of this city. People looked at me with pride when I played for India. I am hopeful that they will support me. After cricket, politics is like a second innings for me. I hope to be as successful in politics as I was in cricket.” Lok Sabha contestant.

When asked about cricket, Mohammed Kaif who had last represented India way back in November 2006 said that he has no thoughts on retiring from professional cricket who is currently plays for the Uttar Pradesh Ranji cricket team. This player insisted that he still has some cricket left in him. “I am in form now. I have played two good innings scoring 80 and 70 in Jaipur only a few days ago. People feel that politics is dirty. So I thought, I will enter politics and show people that work is also being done in politics.” said Mohammed Kaif.

Indian Premier League likely to be shifted to South Africa

The 7th edition of the Indian Premier League is most probably to move out of India. This decision was out when BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla and IPL chairman Ranjib Biswal met in a discussion held with Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and he told "Indian government will not be able to provide fool-proof security during the general elections."

The venues for the rich-tournament has been shifted to the rainbow nation "Africa". This is not the first time that this commercial tournament has been shifted from other than Indian pitches. It was in 2009 IPL edition that this tournament was shifted to South Africa for the first time. "We are in constant touch with franchises; we have taken them into confidence in the last two days and we held a series of meetings with them. We have made our stand clear. They appreciated our concerns and they have given us cooperation on this matter," said Ranjib Biswal.  Earlier Sri Lanka was also one of the prospect to host this tournament but eventually it was South Africa that has got the chance to host this tournament.

Indian Squad For World T20 and Asia Cup to be Picked In Banglore

In the next two months two big tournaments are going to be held in Bangladesh in which India is going to be participated. T20 World Cup and Asia Cup are the two main events which are going to be held in March and April. The final date to select the team for T20 World Cup is Feb 15. But BCCI not yet selected a team. It is being said that during the final of Irani Cup, where all the national selectors are attending, the team for both T20 and Asia Cup will be selected.

Dhoni gets angry on media and says " We want Ashwin"

After India overwhemingly got crushed by New Zealand who were 7th ranked below India, indian skipper  Mahendra Singh Dhoni has lost his cool and turned angry on his higher order batsmen. He asked them to "Improvise and adapt aggressiveness" while supporting his bowlers who couldn't resist in giving away 303 runs in the final ODI.

Dhoni today addressed media in New Zealand and said " we were defeated and at the end of the day you cant really measure disappointment".But New Zealand executed their plans very well and whatever we tried that is chasing or batting first it didn't really work in our favour. He fired on his openers that It wasn't a lack of experience and it was due to the reason "taking the things for granted", they have to adapt and bring positive attitude. After loosing the one day, Dhoni had castigated his wayward bowlers asking them to use their brains more. And apart from one good game, we were always set back in the entire series, Dhoni supported himself that In the last 25 overs you cant easily chase 9 to 10 runs per over and that has been the major set back to some extent.

But However, When Dhoni was questioned about the team-change he defended his approach. Why Amit Mishra was not given a go? questioned a journalist and Dhoni has started his answer with the sentence "We want Ashwin". The one match that was tied was because of his batting performance, so that is why we back Ashwin. Malinga and Ajintha Mendis in Deep Trouble

Sri Lanka Cricket has ordered Lasith Malinga and Ajantha Mendis to return home immediately, ruling out their present participation in the current on going Big Bash League in Australia. Sri Lanka cricket (SLC) secretary Nishanth Ranatunga made this final decision to call home players to undergo a strict training regime ahead of a heavy cricket schedule ahead.

Clash Between Kevin Pietersen and Alastair Cook
