Sri Lanka Cricket has ordered Lasith Malinga and Ajantha Mendis to return home immediately, ruling out their present participation in the current on going Big Bash League in Australia. Sri Lanka cricket (SLC) secretary Nishanth Ranatunga made this final decision to call home players to undergo a strict training regime ahead of a heavy cricket schedule ahead.
He supported his decision saying that all national squad players have to undergo practice sessions in the next few weeks, The decision to call back their both national players were taken in consultation with our national coaches and cheif selector "Sanath JayaSuriya". (SLC) secretary Nishanth Ranatunga have generated serious statements to undergo if players don't return in time.
Sanath Jayasuriya further added that a strong signal is sent to Malinga over his indifferent attitude towards training and poor performance, Malinga has a serious fitness issue. If he is ready to show commitment towards national duty then we feel it is unfair to leave him out.
Meanwhile, Melbourne stars have reported requested SLC secretary Nishanth Ranatunga to release Malinga for february 4th and 5th for the semi finals.
