UPSC Engineering Services 2013: Final list of appointments out now

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) had released the interview results of the Indian Engineering Services recruitment. The last step in recruitment and personal interviews are to be conducted in December 2013 and January 2014. while the written exams were conducted in June 2013. The recruitments were done under four specializations: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics and Telecom Engineering. A total of 702 candidates have been recommended for recruitment by UPSC.

Story

Trisha (Vidya Balan) and Siddharth (Farhan Akhtar) are a married couple who want enjoy their lives and play every possible card to keep their married life fresh and exciting. Everything is going as planned until one fine day, Trisha gets pregnant and they soon welcome a baby girl in their life.

After having a baby, Trisha turns into a peculiar, full-time mommy and soon enough Sid starts missing his earlier fun-filled life. Sid in turn seeks marital advice from his brother-in-law, Ranveer (Ram Kapoor), who is “apparently” a good husband and the world’s best father. From Ranveer, Sid discovers a formula to keep himself and his family happy !!!

But does this formula work, or will Sid invite more trouble for himself ? To know what the formula and its side-effects are, you need to watch this film on the big screen.

Positive Aspects

In case you are a man looking for a fool-proof plan for a happy married life, then here it is “If you make a mistake, you say sorry … If she makes a mistake, you only say sorry.”

The movie deals with problems faced after getting married and also the dilemmas that one faces after becoming a parent! The first half is hilarious and doesn’t stop laughing for even a single second.

Speaking of performances, after a very long time we have two actors who have such effortless chemistry between each other. Farhan and Vidya look believable in every shot and a special mention goes to Farhan for his fine expressions and effortless wit.

Negative Aspects

The film is far too male-centric in its approach and is written totally from the male point of view. The second half of the film doesn’t really have that engaging quality that the first half possesses. It also has been dragged a bit too much which makes the viewers lose interest.

Vir Das is hilarious in his part, but is not given much space to take his character further. Purab Kohli looks like he has been picked from the coffee ad with Karan Johar and Deepika Padukone.

There are few parts which does not seem to be realistic such as the portion where Farhan forgets his child with a strange man.

Technical Aspects

Director Saket has done a decent job. The dialogues by Arshad Sayed in the first half are a riot while Farhan’s lines especially will provide some good laughs.

The songs are decent and because there are only a few and they do not act as a hindrance in the plot. The cinematography is natural and while some sharp editing helps in keeping the screenplay tight.

Goutham: He improved well as an actor compared to the previous flicks. His Performance in the movie added flavor to the movie. Entirely he did well in his role without any negative remarks.

Alisha Baig: Even though she was not beautiful in the movie, she was cute and appeared with her natural look in most of the scenes. Coming to her performance she did justice to her role. 

Others: Supporting roles Tanikella Bharani, Shiyaj Shinde did well in their roles.

The second half of the movie carries the main plot of the story. The sentiment scenes in the second half were touching. The BGM work done by Mani sharma is major asset for the film. Finally,due to lack of interesting scenes and highlights in the movie, it may show negative impact at the Box-office.

Aamir's "Satyameva Jayate", stint scares his mother

The fact that actor-producer Aamir Khan hosts a TV show like "Satyamev Jayate", where startling facts and cases about societal issues are picked, scares his mother.

The second season of the show is due to go on air on Star Plus March 2.

The debut season created quite a flutter as Aamir unraveled facts and figures about issues such as female foeticide, dowry demands, the skewed sex ratio in the country and the likes.

He says he gets a sense of the varied response to the show through his family.

"My family gives different reactions while watching the show. All my family members like the show. My mother is close to 80, and my niece and nephew who are 12 and 13 years old, enjoy the show equally," Aamir told IANS.

"My mother is scared...her reaction is different. She says, 'You are showing people who do wrong, with the right intention', but she says she is scared that what if those people go against me or harm me. After all, she is a mother, so she is scared," he added.

There have been reports that Aamir has been receiving threat calls, but he said: "I have only been receiving love from people and no threat calls these are just rumours."

Story

Rambabu (Sunil) suffers from brain tumer, he gets to know that in the  beginning  of the film itself and decides to end his life, but Thanikela Bharani inspires him to live greatly in the time he has, with that inspiration he starts off to Hyderabad, he meets Nandhini (Ester) in the journey and starts loving her and Nandini too loves her, meanwhile Rambabu with help of Posani starts cleaning Hyderabad by eliminating all the goons in the city. By interval time he comes to know about his disease and but that time he forces Nandini to marry some other guy, what is actual disease, what happens at the end is the rest of the story.

Rating: 2.25/5

Performances:

Sunil: He did well as Rambabu, need not mention about his comedy timing, he did well in few sentiment scenes also, but it will be good if he concentrates on story selection also.

Ester: no performance no skin show, she is just there.

Others: Bharani did well in little role, Posani and Supreeth were usual and helped for the story, others were just there.

Technicians:

Music: Was poor, especially the weakest one  in Anup's recent, good music could have taken this movie to next level,BGM was also pretty average, non of the songs looked great on the screen.

Editing: Was fair enough.

Dialogues: Were good at parts, few bought in laughs.

Others: Fights were not well composed, production values were okay.

Director And His Film:

Uday Shankar is making film after many years, he is trying hard to still to score big at the box office, story was well mixture of Chakram, Annavaram and other movies, he failed to get best from his technical team, screenplay was dragged, he should have concentrated on comedy, comedy was minimal and sentiment did not go well.

Its just Sunil's one man show.

Overall a below average fair, go for it if you have no choice.

Indian Megastar Amitabh Bachchan on Wednesday shocked one and all by saying that Ranbir Kapoor is more popular than him and wishes to work with the actor, even if it is for a brief role. Meanwhile, Ranbir is going to make a cameo presence in Bachchan's upcoming film Bhootnath Returns. However, Ranbir and Amitabh have no common scenes that what lead Amitabh to express his views.

"I dont have a scene or a shot with him. I hope we can work together some day in a film. I would be ok doing even a small role in his film. He is very popular ...than me," Bachchan said, adding, "It is always great to work with younger actors...one learns a lot from them."

Now the question is how many top stars of Tollywood admit or express such things publicly? Almost all our big stars still want to play the lead roles, fight goons, romance ladies much younger than them, have to do a jig with them and want to be remained as hero unlike Amitabh who is doing character roles alongside lead roles. It's high time T-town stars should learn from Bollywood and its professionalism. What say folks?
