Legendary actor Dr. Akkineni Nageswara Rao (91) breathed his last in the CARE hospital at 2:45 am on 22 January 2014 when he was rushed to due to uneasiness in breathing. The dead body shall be shifted to Annapurna studios for the sake of fans, friends and others.
Nageswara Rao has starred in several films of various genres during his unparalleled 75-year acting career. He won 3 Filmfare Best Telugu Actor Awards in his acting career. He was honored with the Padma Vibhushan, India's 2nd highest civilian honour for his contribution to Indian cinema, and is the recipient of the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, the highest individual lifetime achievement award for films in India. He has also received Raghupathi Venkaiah Award (1989) and NTR National Award (1996).
