Veteran and Senior most tollywood's prominent actor Sri Akkeneni Nageshwara Rao garu (20 September 1924 – 22 January 2014) was suffering with intestinal cancer and died undergoing treatment in Care Hospitals, Banjara Hills at Hyderabad. His son Akkeneni Nagarjuna said he died at 12.10 AM, however the announcement was made after 2 AM. In the past year, Akkeneni Nageshwar Roa garu called for a press meet in Anna Poorna Studio and shocked everyone announcing that he is suffering with an intestinal cancer. He said that though he his suffering with cancer, he is healthy enough to pull his boat himself to the 100 year mark. He added that he is been associated with two or three films also.
With a little sigh he proudly said that he is the one who made audience knew that people suffering cancer will die, with his movie DEVADAS. He said he is not soo upset to bare cancer in his last days, requested his fans not to Panic and even assured them that he will live long for 100 years. Manam was the last film of Akkineni Nageswara Rao, where he shared his presence together with his son Nagarguna and grand son Naga Chaitanya on the same screen.
